Job Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cross Sectional  Senior CT/MRI Radiographer to join our team at our brand new, purpose built, pioneering Integrated Diagnostic Centre (IDC) located at South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust.

 Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in both modalities.

The service consists of five state of the art scanners including CT, MRI, and PET-CT; with significant expansion planned in the following decade to scan a projected throughput of 125,000 patients a year being achieved by 2031.

With a flexible and patient-focused approach you will be working within a small team and have experience of building an excellent rapport with patients and customers (both internal and external) and continue to provide high standards of care and service.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and IT literacy are essential.

You will be working with a dedicated team of Senior Radiographers/Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, HCAs, and administrative staff.

You will also be required to IV cannulate patients as part of the role. Rest assured, should you not have any prior experience in IV cannulation, Alliance Medical will provide full training. Hep B immunisation is necessary for this role.

As a successful candidate you must be able to demonstrate that you have:

•    BSc/DCR in Diagnostic Radiography

Have a minimum of 3 years modality specific experience

•    IV Cannulation Certificate essential(training will be provided if needed)

•    Must be IT literate

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•    HCPC (or appropriate professional body) registration essential

•    Awareness of MRI and CT Safety Regulations, CQC Requirements and Health and Safety Legislation

For this role you must have a patient-focused attitude to ensure patient care is delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Job Description

Genius ATS, a leading medical imaging services provider, is seeking a skilled Cross-Sectional Senior CT/MRI Radiographer to join our team at our Skipton Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and interpreting CT and MRI scans for diagnostic purposes and ensuring the highest quality of patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform high-quality CT and MRI scans on patients, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
2. Review and interpret imaging results to ensure accuracy and provide detailed written reports to referring physicians.
3. Collaborate with the wider medical team to determine appropriate imaging techniques and protocols for individual patients.
4. Maintain and troubleshoot CT and MRI equipment to ensure optimal functioning and minimal downtime.
5. Train and supervise junior radiographers, providing guidance and support as needed.
6. Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
7. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in CT and MRI technology and techniques, attending training and professional development opportunities as required.
8. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and communicate any critical findings promptly.
10. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of imaging services.
11. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Radiography or other relevant field.
2. Valid registration with the relevant governing body (e.g., HCPC or NMC).
3. Extensive experience as a CT/MRI Radiographer, including advanced cross-sectional imaging techniques.
4. Proven knowledge of CT and MRI equipment, procedures, and safety protocols.
5. Ability to independently perform and interpret CT and MRI scans.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
7. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a busy clinical environment.
8. Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
9. Proficiency in computer skills for image processing and report writing.
10. Commitment to professional development and staying abreast of advancements in medical imaging technology.
